Approved by the State Council of China and jointly hosted by the Ministry f Science & Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Information Industry, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the State Intellectual Property Office and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, and with Chinese Academy of Science, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Enterprise Confederation and the China Association of Science and Technology as consultation institutions, the China Beijing International High-tech Expo (hereinafter called CHITEC) has already held the 10 sessions, and the 11th China Beijing International High-tech Expo (11th CHITEC), attracting the world attention and gathering the unlimited business opportunities of the development of world high-tech industry, will be solemnly held on May 21-25, 2008, at the eve of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and the key period of "11th Five-Year Plan" of implementation with effort, reform in new progress, expanding opening up, transition in the good and fast development, at the Beijing International Exhibition Center grandly. The contribution of information industry to national economy is continually increasing. By the year 2010, nationwide telephone users will reach one billion among which new landline users will increase 9.6 million annually and reach 0.4 billion by the year 2010, while mobile phone users will remain rapid growth with an annual increase of 42 million new users and will amount to 0.6 billion by the year 2010.As for the development of internet users, it will continue growing with an ever-increasing speed and will reach 0.2 billion by the year 2010, almost double of the users now. The year 2008 is the key year of implementing and accomplishing the unmodifiable index of “11th Five-Year Plan”. Hence, the biggest opportunity for development of the global electronic information and modern telecom industry lies in China. China’s authoritative and best international platform of exhibition is here in the “Electronic Informatics and Communication Exhibition of 11th CHITEC”.
